Love

The fleeting glimpse and feel of true love can seem to last a second or eternity. What we do with that kind of love is take it unconditionally and give it back a thousand fold...xxx

My Mother's Birthday...

Just over an hour ago my mother, Jennifer Dawn Avery, would have been 67...

She was my my world, my inspiration, my most dedicated support, defender, my grounding and driving force...

Her words, not mine "an over educated idiot; walking disaster area; accident waiting to happen"...

She was very right...

I am/was/will always be all of those things and so much more...

She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings"...

Penblwydd Hapus Mam...xxx

Everything I have and will achieve I owe to a truly remarkable woman...xxx

RIP Jennifer Dawn Avery 1946 - 2002...

I'm a 'RAINMAKER' :)

I've been tied up with various, including a med. neg. case as you would know if you had to read my status.
I made a calculated, cold blooded, ruthless decision to the detriment of my own health, even knowing the very real potential risks; I did that as an LIP with some input from legal people who are long term trusted friends. My daughter was an awesome oral witness.
I have achieved what is known in the legal field as a 'rainmaker'.
I do enjoy John Grisham's novels but do not mistake the term as a fiction. It is very real.
My strategy, in law and other matters, is, whenever possible, to always use four different kinds of thinking in unison. They are literal, lateral, logical and visual. Basically it means give me point A and other points whether they be just A to B or A to B to Z... I will, if it's possible, and, for me, even after the severe illnesses etc. I bloomin' will find a way to achieve it; often in a split second
I do not wish to let this matter divide any groups; "united as one, divided by zero..."
Our goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for the whole collective...
One of the greatest achievements of yesterday was to hear and record the consultant say that she had taken my advice, experiences et al in good faith as they were meant and saved at least two other patients suffering the devastation that I endured and survived last July/August... She is also championing this attitude to be trialed across suitable departments of the Health Trust.
This is real progress and we must never lose sight of that...
You made me fight again and I will always be grateful...

UK Housing Crisis...

In response to this:

http://kittysjones.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/welfare-wrongs-and-human-rights-a-dialogue-with-anne-mcguire/

It is highly embarrassing that in the seventhth 'richest' nation on Earth we have effectively 'abandoned' a large part of society, ie. the sick, disabled, elderly, disadvantaged and poorest families to an inhumane life of extreme poverty.

Look at the figures at home, not abroad. Our children and their parents are starving as well as other vulnerable groups including homeless and vulnerable when there are almost a million houses vacant and hundreds of thousands of other buildings likewise that could easily be made habitable for a lot less money than the cost of 'mopping' up the mess.

Putting families and others in to very expensive so called B & B accommodation is a gross waste of taxpayers money when there are a myriad of other ways far less costly and damaging to their social crises that could easily be used at a fraction of the monetary and human cost.

The vast majority of taxpayer's money is lining the pockets of unscrupulous private housing and temporary housing 'providers' when it could be put to much better use to create longer term temporary and permanent housing of hugely superior quality negating the use of these leech - like 'landlords'.

One particularly good scheme I have seen mentioned in the press recently involves specially adapted shipping containers insulated and converted in to decent sized studio flats. Why can't this idea be rolled out country wide to absorb the extreme shortage of one bed small homes? Why can't two or three containers be used to create bigger homes for families?

I'm stuck in the trap that I cannot downsize to a suitable property because there simply aren't any anywhere nearly suitable for my severe disability needs.

I couldn't afford to move even if I wanted to. It cost £750 removal expenses, over a thousand pounds in flooring and in excess of £500 for other expenses. Who would pay that now even if there were a suitable property?

I swapped houses in good faith four years ago with a couple who approached me because they wanted to live next door to one of their daughters and across the road from the other. All this was done legally, quickly and easily with the full consent of the housing association because they own both properties.

That same housing association have refused to help me even though I became extremely physically and much more psychologically disabled three years ago because of an horrendous series of life threatening illnesses and remain critically ill to this day.

However, I would gladly move, if my expenses were met and home adapted to my specific needs; even to a triple converted shipping container (I'd need a lot of extra space for my wheelchairs and two extra bedrooms for frequently needed overnight carers).

I'm willing to meet the government halfway, why aren't they willing to meet me?

Ice...

"Ice... Never seen so much ice... Black ice... The construct is so beautiful... An artwork in itself and the ice is... Go near that and it'll fry your brain... Just looking at it could drive you crazy because you know that it's looking back even before you saw it... Jack out NOW!!!"...

Letter from Housing Association re: Bedroom tax...

I received a letter yesterday regarding the dreaded 'bedroom tax'... I'm expected, if not successful in my DHP application, to pay £1144 per year for the 'privilege' of living in my extensively adapted home...

This is the most cruel, sick and heartless tax/punishment any government in living memory has come up with...

The are NO suitable properties whatsoever in all of South Wales for me to move to, so I'm stuck and being penalised just because I swapped houses with a middle age couple almost four years ago so that they could live next the their daughter and opposite their other daughter...

I got very ill three years ago resulting in severe disabilities... I do apologise Mr CaMORON and Mr Smegg...

The housing Association do not want to know even though the Welsh Assembly have paid thousands of pounds to adapt my home.

It's not just a 'home' it's my refuge, my safety and all the myriad things disabled, vulnerable, elderly and disadvantaged people rely on just to live a life as best they can.

I do not live in luxury; most of my worldly possessions are over 10 years old, some more than 20 and the rest have been saved for or bought with money from my loving grandmother. She gives all us grandchildren and great grandchildren generous gifts of money for birthdays, Christmas, Easter etc... My grandmother does not want that money to be spent on living, she wants it to be spent in the spirit she gave...

And this bloody government, 'cos that's what they are; blood on their hands getting worse by the hour; want to take every last thing, dignity and sanity away from us...

Yours in disgust,

Lynda Phillips, aka babybear...

As many thousands of British people, I am utterly devastated by what our CONDEM government are trying to do...
